4. Explore Grapevine. 

Located in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this charming town is known as the “Christmas Capital of Texas.” Visit the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, stroll down Main Street, or enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many local wineries. You’ll also find plenty of shopping opportunities, including the Grapevine Mills Mall. And if you’re visiting in December, don’t miss the annual “Parade of Lights.” 

5. Go for a hike in the Cedar Ridge Preserve. 

If you’re a nature lover, you’ll adore this 600-acre nature preserve in southwestern Dallas. Hike through its many trails, ranging from easy to difficult, and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You may even spot some local wildlife, such as coyotes, armadillos, and lizards. And best of all, admission is free!
